Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

IS IT SAFE TO USE EFT?

EFT has no known side effect that I know of. However, you should inform me whether you are pregnant as one specific tapping point is believed to induce labour.

You need to check with your GP and/or mental health professional, especially if you are under treatment and take medication.

CAN I STOP TAKING MY MEDICATION ?

You must carry on with any existing treatment, even if you feel like EFT is making you me feel better. Only your doctor can decide whether you should stop taking your medication or not. If you do notice an improvement you can call your doctor and ask for a review.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

It is not always possible to tell in advance. Sometimes people come to see me with a specific problem and it turns out that there are other things that need addressing, a bit like the tree hiding the forest.

The root cause of the problem must be found. An issue is not always as benign as it seemed.

ARE YOU A DOCTOR OR A PSYCHOLOGIST?

You must carry on with any existing treatment, even if you feel like EFT is making you me feel better. Only your doctor can decide whether you should stop taking your medication or not. If you do notice an improvement you can call your doctor and ask for a review.

CAN I DO EFT AT HOME?

Absolutely!

I recommend you use the technique as I show you  rather than look up videos on YouTube.

If you need further help following a session, do not hesitate to contact me.

I AM PREGNANT. CAN I DO EFT?

Yes, you can. The majority of the points we use are safe. However, you must inform me you are pregnant when completing the pre-treatment questionnaire and provide information about any existing condition, concern and/or risk that you are aware of.

It is your responsibility to check with your doctor beforehand. If I have reasons to believe your doctor has not been consulted,  I will have to check with them. I may even take the decision to cancel the session.

ARE EFT AND TFT THE SAME THING?

EFT and TFT are both tapping therapies, but they are different. Gary Craig, the original founder of EFT,  trained in TFT and simplified the process.

EFT involves talking while doing tapping rounds.

TFT doesn’t involve talking and is based on algorithms, that were created to address specific issues.

Let’s say that it is easier (and maybe more fun!) to use EFT.

DOES IT WORK?

There is still a lot of ongoing research and testing.

However, it has been reported that EFT is very efficient in the case of phobias, anxiety, depression and PTSD (evidence based conclusions).

IS EFT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?

EFT is suitable for anyone, there is no age limit!

What is great with EFT for children is that they don’t have as many blocks as adults do. They are not self-conscious about tapping and find it fun.

The process is quicker as there is a lot less to clear in terms of negative experience, limiting beliefs, or trauma.
